I wonder who was the first person who decided to put meetings in the calendar?
Was he or she proud of this invention?
We meet a lot, but we say little. I had been on many pointless meetings. Do we want to meet to create a better team atmosphere, then let’s really do that!
The worse thing is when you join a meeting and you see very miserable people who are part of that meeting by force, or by expectations that if they are not there, they will miss something out.
We build cultures because we want to be part of something and we want to meet. The reverse way lets meet to build a culture is never the answer.
So next time you are joining pointless meeting, maybe the intention wasn’t defined or worse it was defined, but it was poorly executed.
